Based on my measurement of my readiness for teaching, I have come to the conclusion that I have a substantial amount of sound knowledge I have gathered the knowledge form my previous teaching experiences. I am still willing to learn more so that I can pass it onto my learners when I teach them. I know how to teach my subjects and select the content to teach the learners. Although, I have not mastered this skill yet as it takes years of experience and a newly qualified teacher cannot master it without any form of true exposure to field until they start working in the industry. I am able to sufficiently know my learners and how they work. Although I struggle to remember their names due to my hearing impairment, I often would often have to ask them to repeat their names to me to help me remember. Its take time and experience for a teacher to understand how their learners work and how to accommodate them. I am able to communicate in relation to my subjects to my learners; I believe that there is always room for improvement in this skill as experience does help improve it. I am able to explain concepts in an understandable way to the learners. I have developed literacy and numeracy skills through my education at school; therefore I can pass on those skills to my learners. I have developed Information Technology skills very highly as I am able to use devices such as the projector and computer for my lessons. I am acknowledgeable of the school curriculum; I have knowledge of the policies that are in place by the government body. Although I have not mastered knowing the curriculum in detail as it takes time and experience to develop that knowledge. I fully understand the diversity of my learners and I am able to accommodate them in my lessons. I am able to sufficiently manage my classroom across the diverse context but I am still willing to learn additional ways to manage my classroom and that comes with experience in the industry. Lastly I am able to assess my learners in reliable ways as I make use of activities provided in the prescribed books but I also make use of my own activities that I have created. I still want to learn more ways of designing activities to test my learners and that will only come with experience.
You are ready to take on a role of a teacher. Your struggles will improve over time. You are going to be an amazing teach. Good Luck!
